Forensic Mental Health
The Mental Health Forensic Service user involvement meeting involves a group of patients and staff meeting regularly (the minimum is monthly). Each ward has a service user representative who feeds back the ward issues. We aim to share worries, explore new ideas and to discuss what’s going well, what is causing concern and to try to find shared solutions. We also discuss what’s happening in the wider Forensic meetings and are trying out the service user representatives attending directorate meetings.
The groups are friendly, relaxed and a good opportunity to get involved, learn, feedback to Forensics’ mental health managers, the service users on the individual wards and share knowledge to improve services.
The Learning Disability Forensic service has a weekly patient forum, rather than attending a separate forum which discusses any issues with the ward and shares ideas and solutions.
